Cryomemories is a series of heat sensitive sculptures and digital images created with a Scanning Electron Microscope. Gallery visitors are invited to pick up the cryogenically preserved capsules containing nano microscopy images of different parts of the body. Images in the video depict snot, toe fuzz, a fingernail and HaCat cells. When visitors touch the objects ( wearing thermal gloves so that their skin does not burn) the heat from their bodies and the room temperature melt the heat sensitive glue binding the image to the capsule. The image appears more clearly the longer it is held.
